Seams are Impeccable - Impeccable Design -- Impeccable Execution - This is Intensemy Difficult. Bill Blass' Seams Are On Par With The Excellence In Alexander McQueen's Seams.
On Par - But Different. Fully Lined in 100% Silk.
Seams Located at The Lining Match the Seams and Darts Located on the Main Body of the Dress - Making for a Hard to Achieve -- but Perfect Fit. The Graphic of The Fabric is Matched At The Seam, With Its Corrsesponding Graphical Sequence, at the Other Side of Corresponding Seam. Not Only is it Difficult to Match One End of The Graphic to its Matching Sequence -- its very expensive because this uses more fabric. It takes alot more Time too.
I imagine if it were me saying to aloud to myself: "Ok, I have reached the seam, and this blue flower has ended in its middle - "Where is The Corresponding Sequence of the "Blue Flower" On the Other Piece of Fabric Etc.... One's Mind Boggles At The Thought. Looks Great on many body types. Zipper is Sewn into the Dress by Hand. The Main Fabric is a Crafted Using An Intensely Difficult and Time Consuming Wool Looming Process.
This fabric is not seen today. It's A Couture Summer/Spring Weight Wool Which Breathes. Comfortable Dress With a Slight Wiggle (But Definitely Not a Wiggle Dress). Looks Excellent with Heels and A Classic Bag. The Dress' Cut Narrows at The Waist...From the Waist, the Cut of the Dress is Executed to be Subtly Form Fitting at The Wearer's Hips... From the Hips, the Design Follows the Flow of the Feminine Silhouette, by Gradually Tapering Closer and Closer Toward the Natural Narrowing of The Body, Til it Reaches Its Narrowest Point at the Knees... Its a Very Sexy Silhouette. The Bustline is Subtlely Highlighted by the Darts and Seams Located at the Bustline. Very Comfortable For the Wearer. Generous French Finished Seams Throughout. The originally nearly white inner silk lining has oxidized with the natural passage of time, and become yellowish. This may freshen up by a good drycleaner. Silk is a natural fiber which changes over time.
We consider this a Merit Not a Defect. The Main Outer Fabric Looks and Feels Just The Same, as it Did In the 1980s. The Dyes are as Exuberant as they were Over Thirty Years Ago.The Wool has held its Body, Shape and Distinctive Touch and Feel. The Wool Has a Slight Polish. Bill Blass Would Not Have Permitted Anything Less. The Original Intense Looming Technique Was Completely Worth The Effort and Acccompanying Expense. Was Never Meant To Be A Throw Away Dress - It Was Built to Last. The Bill Blass Tag is Hand Stitched at the Upper Inner Silk Lining - One Corner of the label needs to be restitched. There is a Stain Near the Hem (Located on The Side) - Please See the Last Photo. Dress has the Classic S Shaped Silhouette. Made in the United States.
