Classic 1960s modernist Bonnie Cashin olive green. Coat, a true vintage collector. Piece form one of America's most under appreciated but incredibly important designers of 1960s/70s sportswear.
The color is olive drab, and the styling is clean cut and modern, a soft tailored trench coat style with 2 brass clasps on the front. Cashing was known for the hardware she used, and her designs for COACH have continued on with her legacy designs. There are no size tags in the coat but I have shown it on a size 6 mannequin with a 36" bust, 26" waist, and 35 hips and it fits her well. That said, I will call this a 4 to 8 depending on what you were beneath the coat. Fully lined in fake fur and labeled in the inside liner.
2 pouch pockets on the exterior. Overall with vernal wear consistent with age. There are 2 surface scuffs to the leather, one one the arm (shown) and another on the side. Both are more prominent in pictures that in person. Apart from that this coat, which belonged to my mother in the 60s/70s, was well cared for and kept clean and away from smoke and pets. Label: Bonnie Cashin for Sills. Size: no size tag, but this will fit a small to medium I have shown it on a size 6 mannequin.
A 36" bust; 35" hips, 26. Waistline to give you an idea of how it hangs and fits on a 6. Fabric: Leather (though not labeled). Notes: 2 closure front; no zippers; fully lined in fake fur; one minor surface scratch of the right. Measurements: Laid flat (with all pertinent dimensions).
22 across the bust; the coat does not close as a. Fold-across--it clasps in only 2 places. That said, the across the bust measurement is laid flat with the edges of the coat touching; I have shown it on a 36 bust and it fits nicely. Is raglan style across the shoulder, seam to seam.Should er is approx 16-1/2" to 17". 32-1/2 outer sleeve length, measured from center of the back of the neckline down shoulder to edge of sleeve. Of collar to hemline front. 41 length from back of neckline to hemline rear. 15 sleeve inseam, armpit seam to sleeve edge. Bout me: Im a NYC-based photo and video prop stylist, set designer, & decorator for magazines like Real Simple, Instyle, Modern Luxury & others. Im also a stealth shopping/ sourcing powerhouse, and can source an antique or a special prop for a photo shoot, movie set, or fashion designer with my eyes closed. I started my career in New York City in the late 1980s dressing display windows at Henri Bendel & the elegant Bergdorf Goodman on Fifth Avenue in the glory days of real story-telling windows. It was there that I learned the art of styling designer clothing & creating an aspirational & romantic mood with merchandise. I had access to the finest luxury designer clothing like Claude Montana, Pauline Trigere, Coco, and others, and learned about seam construction and the high tech fabrics that were coming out then, and always wanted to know more about fashion history and what led to these gorgeous clothes. My mother also wore lots of Bonnie Cashin so I was aware of the modern minimalists, and sought them out for her. I also source props for shoots & work often as photo stylist, putting the finishing touches on interiors & location shoots. And since Im shopping constantly, and love fancy estate sales I scour them regularly and with great skill; the result is an online shop that I consider a finely curated collection of vintage clothing, home accessories, & mid century odds and ends from high end homes in the New York City area. Im happy to serve film production wardrobe departments, so contact me with any queries about items you are looking for, as there are many things I have that are not listed.
