There is no makers label that I can find, but by the material and style, I'm guessing this is from the 1940's, but I cannot be sure. Jacket has a very unique fur lining.
I do not know what type fur the lining is or if it is original to the coat. Fur lining extends down the sleeves of the coat (which does make the sleeves fit a bit tight). The only label I find is one that says'Genuine Horsehide'. Jacket is in fair shape at best. The leather has areas of cracking, especially at the shoulders. Some of the stitching on the seams is loose, leaving the seams open (pics #5,6 and 11), especially on the left arm and front left breast. The buttons were removed and a modern zipper was added (pic #10). Conchos were added to the front and sleeves of the coat via small slits made in the leather(pics#1,3,12). Fringe was added above front left breast (pic #11). Jacket overall has scuffs, scratches, small holes in the leather(from conchos and one on right sleeve), cracking to the leather, etc.
Fro age, wear, use, and modification. Jacket measures roughly 22" from pit to pit and 33" from under collar to bottom of the jacket and weighs in at 8#. Please see ALL the pictures as they can describe the coat and its condition better than I ever could. I have attempted to describe the item to the best of my knowledge.Location from me in the.
