RED LINE SELVEDGE RIGID DENIM JEANS. These American Made LVC 1966 501 big E red label dark blue rigid denim jeans originate from Aero Leather Clothing of Scotland. The 1966 classic cut big E red line selvedge 501s epitomise the mid-1960s era and were worn by the likes of the Grateful Dead and Creedence Clearwater Revival band members, as well as Bob Dylan and many, many more from the then, happening 60s music fraternity who chose Levis as their number one denim Rock Duds. These Levis big E 501s are, as seen in supplied photos. They have received no less than, three tours of duty with a washing machine on a low temperature wash.
They appear wrinkled in the supplied photos as they have never been ironed from new. The reason being that the wrinkles would whisker and fade more quickly to give that classic worn in deep puddle look so beloved by Levis Vintage Clothing aficionados. However, this whisker and fading has not yet occurred to any meaningful degree as they have received minimal wear.
The LVC blister tag has in some places miniscule tears on the edges. These do not detract from the overall good looks of these U. Made 501 raw denim jeans. There is loads of whisker and fades yet to be done on these babys that will give them the classic timeless Levi & Strauss look of old. And there are loads of good hard wearing to be had of these little worn rigid big E 1966 denims.
Classic 1966 Levis boxy style top block with tapering legs (see photos). Label size 36W 34L (pre-shrunk). 1966 501s were the first to have bar tacked back pockets. There are in all eleven supplied photos. Ten are of the actual sale item.
The eleventh photo is an Aero Leather Clothing screen capture taken directly from their website that reflects the written statement highlighted in black immediately in the below. Levis 501XX 1966 - Deadstock US made Cone Mills Denim. 2017 Cone Mills White Oak Plant closed itd doors for the last time spelling the end of an era for US denim and in particular US denim for Levis. Cone Mills have supplied Levis since 1915 when a hand shake agreement made them exclusive suppliers of XX denim for their 501s.
Levis Vintage Clothing have now used up all remaining stock of Cone Mills denim so are now using Japanese denim. They have also moved production from the US to Turkey (where a lot of regular Levis range is already made). There will be no more US made US denim Levis anytime soon if ever. These jeans we offer really are the last of an icon, when they are gone they are gone. For further visual information please, view all photos supplied. Please note that colour variations and camera flash may occur from photograph to photograph this is due to different lighting scenarios at the time of photographing.
